Low-Mid Polygon models are pretty cool. If I were to make a 3D game, I would use either low or mid polygon models depending on my needs. Low poly if I wanted that PS1/N64 feeling or Mid poly if I wanted the dreamcast or gamecube feeling. Skies of arcadia, one of my favorite video games, was mid poly so that gives me a good reason to use mid poly. I really want to experiment right now with blender models for a while to see what I can make. High polygon models take too long to render, require more powerful computers, and overall not worth the investment for me right now. Besides, low-mid polygon has that charm to it, high poly will feel dated after a while because it relies on the fact it's realistic rather than stylistic.
